• Use the reverse-chronological resume format—it’s what IT hiring managers expect. This means listing your most recent experience first, followed by older entries. 
• Go with a simple resume font like Calibri, Arial, or Book Antiqua in 11–12 pt. Just look at any (modern!) piece of software: if your resume font looks like the typeface used there, you’re fine. Just like a decent interface, your resume needs to be easy to read. 
• Leave all the margins of your resume at one inch and don’t crowd the page. Again, think a good, pleasant interface: white space to guide the eye, clearly outlined sections and functions, fully intuitive. 
• Submit a one-page resume. IT Technicians don’t usually need more, unless they remember working on external, dial-up 56K modems.
• Include at least these sections: Resume header, Profile, Experience, Education, and Skills. Follow up with a couple of extra sections if applicable, such as your certifications or foreign languages (more on that later). 

You know the score when it comes to PDF versus *.docx for sharing resumes and other documents.
