A concierge acts as a point of contact for hotel guests, responding to queries, arranging transportation, managing deliveries, and more. You have to make sure that guests' needs are met and that their experience is nothing but positive. The purpose of your concierge resume is to highlight your people’s skills and strong organizational focus.
This is how to write a concierge resume that deserves a 5-star review:
In your job, presentation is everything. You want to maintain a professional air at all times and look the part, too, right? Otherwise, guests just aren’t likely to take you seriously or approach you at all.
It’s the same with your concierge resume. If it doesn’t look sleek and professional at first glance, recruiter’s won’t take the chance—they’ll move on to the next candidate in seconds.
That’s why it’s crucial to get your resume formatting right. Here’s how:
Unless stated otherwise, save your resume as a PDF. A PDF will preserve the resume layout and is easily readable by Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
And your resume must be ATS-compliant, especially if you’re applying to a large hotel chain. According to research, 90% of employers use ATS solutions.
Once you master resume formatting, you can start writing. Before you delve into describing your experience, introduce yourself briefly with a resume profile section that showcases your strengths.
If you already have some working experience, write a resume summary. Use:
What should you do if you don’t have much relevant experience to speak of just yet?
Write a resume objective instead. It’s very similar to a summary, except that it relies on skills and experience from other sources. Think about volunteer work, academic projects, internships, or another gig where you might have gained transferable skills.
Expert Hint: Write your profile once you’ve finished other sections of your concierge resume to make the job easier.
The work experience section is the most important part of your concierge resume. It’s where you can highlight your previous experience and prove you’re the best person for the job.
While writing a work experience section, remember two things.
First, target your resume to the specific job ad that caught your attention. Managers are busy people—show them you value their time by focusing on the requirements mentioned in the job posting.
Secondly, present your strong suits. Focus on your professional achievements that will impress your future employer rather than listing every basic responsibility.
Here’s how to write a targeted job description for a concierge:
Aim for 3–6 bullet points for each of your previous jobs. Refer to the resume sample above to see what this section should look like!
Once you’ve written the perfect concierge work history section, it’s time to focus on your resume skills section.
There is one simple rule—less is more. Spot the skills mentioned in the job. Include them in the resume skills section to, once again, tailor your application to the job at hand. See this list of skills for inspiration:

Although most concierge jobs don’t require any specific degree, you should still include an education section on your resume—even if it’s just a formality. It won’t take much time, either:
If you already have some experience, list your highest completed level of education, plus the name of the school and graduation year.
Candidates with no experience can lean on academic activities to boost their application and bulk out their resume somewhat. You can include bullet points with things like:
Expert hint: Are you limiting your job search to hotel positions only? You may want to cast a wider net: statistics show that there are considerably more concierges employed in real estate than in travel accommodation, meaning there may be job opportunities in apartment buildings and complexes in your area.
And now the final touches of your concierge resume. You want to distinguish yourself from other candidates. The best way to do that? By including some extra sections.
You can mention:
What more can you do to convince the hiring manager to invite you to an interview?
Write a cover letter and state your case. Add some extra information and state your proudest and most relevant achievements.
Double your impact with a matching resume and cover letter combo. Use our cover letter generator and make your application documents pop out.
