1. Pick the Best Recruiter Cover Letter Format

The first impression is always the strongest, and no messy cover letter will get through the screening process. Fortunately, there are simple ways to tidy up your cover letter for a recruiter and present yourself in the most professional way possible.

Here are the key rules for formatting your cover letter:

  • Don’t use justification, left-align all cover letter contents instead.
  • Set 1-inch margins on all four sides.
  • Choose an easily readable font—any of these is perfect: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Helvetica, or Georgia. 
  • Use 1.15 line spacing.

3. Greet the Recruiter and Hook Them With a Strong First Paragraph

The first paragraph of a recruter cover letter has a critical function—it must ensure your application is not discarded as junk mail.

So how to take this first step? In the greeting, address the hiring manager by their name. Do some simple research to find out who the hiring manager is.
